Mixed Convection inside a Duct with an Open Trapezoidal Cavity Equipped with Two Discrete Heat Sources and Moving Walls

The current research presents a numerical investigation of the mixed convection inside horizontal rectangular duct combined with an open trapezoidal cavity. region in bottom wall cavity is heated by using two discrete heat sources. cold airflow enters horizontally at fixed velocity and constant temperature. All other walls are adiabatic. Throughout this study, four various cases were investigated depending on driven walls. effects Richardson number Reynolds ratio studied under related to lid-driven sidewalls. results presented terms flow thermal fields average Nusselt number. yielded data show that rises as increases. Furthermore, movement sidewall(s) have significant effect temperature contours. By end it shown maximum rates transfer Case 1 where left sidewall moves downward heater 2, which placed near sidewall.
